R – Series

The R – Series Nanofiltration Systems are designed for commercial use and offer an innovative and expandable design that feature only the highest quality componenets, including a programmable computer controller with many built-in standard features and a stainless-steel booster pump for high performance and corrosion resistance. R – Series systems may be upgradeed with AXEON NF3 or NF4 membrane elements designed to provide low operating pressures for nanofiltration applications.

Nanofiltration (NF) membrane technology is the use of pressure to seperate soluble ions from water through a semi permeable membrane. The membrane operates under a different hydraulic profile which is also known as cross flow filtration. NF in water treatment bridges a gap between Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) membranes. It is sometimes referred to as a loose or lower rejecting RO membrane. It could also be called a tight UF, as NF membrane pore size ranges from .01 to a little less than .001. Generally, an NF membrane system lets more salt pass than an RO membrane. In addition, an NF membrane element will produce the same quantity of product at 50 to 70% the applied pressure as an RO water treatment system

Nanofiltration Systems are membrane filtration systems used most often on applications that require higher TDS permeate, such as surface water and groundwater, with the purpose of softening (polyvalent cation removal) and removal of by-product precursors like natural organic matter and synthetic organic matter. Nanofiltration is also becoming more widely used in food processing applications for simultaneuous concentration and partial (monovalent ion) demineralization.
