Water Softener VS. Antiscalant Injection

WATER SOFTENER

WHAT IT DOES:
Softens Water by Exchanging Sodium Ions for Calcium and Magnesium “Water Hardness”

PROS:
• Reduces Water Hardness to Below 1 Grain Per Gallon (GPG)
• Dilution of Chemicals Not Required

CONS:
• Large Volumes of Water Required for Regeneration
• Lugging of Heavy Bags of Salt
• High Operating Costs

ANTISCALANT INJECTION

WHAT IT DOES:
Control of Scale at Up to 100 times Saturation Values or Higher.

PROS:

• No Salt Required
• Extended Membrane Life
• Works with Up To 150 Grains of Hardness “Possibly Higher”
• Lower Operating Costs than Water Softeners

CONS:
• Accurate Dilution is Critical
• Accurate Injection Rate is Critical

AXEON S-100 Antiscalant is a highly effective antiscalant, specially formulated for feedwaters with the highest levels of metal oxides, silica, and scale-forming minerals.
